Connect Networks Community Standards

Connect Networks offers to eligible participants the ability to have virtual meetings with other people with whom they are matched by Connect Networks for the purpose of discussing topics of mutual interest. We provide a platform for an exchange of ideas, for the fostering of communities, and for network members to interact with each other and freely express themselves through Connect Network’s products and services in which they are eligible to participate.
It is of paramount importance to Connect Networks that all network members have an enjoyable and meaningful experience and feel respected and heard. To help accomplish that goal, we have developed these Community Standards for our network members. These Community Standards apply to all products, services, and environments offered or hosted by Connect Networks. This includes but is not limited to meetings we arrange for network members, and access to our website, servers, software, forums, and blogs, as applicable.
Our Community Standards set out standards of behavior for participation in our networks. Your failure to comply with these Community Standards could result in restrictions on your access to our services, up to and including the termination of your Connect Networks account and right to use our services, including but not limited to being denied participation in meetings.
BEHAVORIAL STANDARDS
Intolerance
The use of derogatory or demeaning language based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, age, or sexual orientation is prohibited. Actions that marginalize, belittle, or defame another network member or any other person or group are similarly prohibited. The use of profanity during meetings is prohibited.
Harassment
Harassment can take many forms. Communicating or behaving in a manner that is offensively coarse, intimidating, threatening, or causes annoyance or alarm is not allowed.
Disparagement
The Connect Networks platform exists to encourage the mutual exchange of ideas. Polite and respectful disagreement with a person you are speaking with is permitted. However, you may not belittle or disparage the other person’s point of view, cast aspersions on their motivations, or otherwise be disrespectful or dismissive in your response to their thoughts. Posting or otherwise publicizing interpersonal disputes with other network members or negative personal commentary is prohibited.
Restrictions on Discussion Topics
Network members in meetings may not engage in political activity or provide medical guidance. All illegal activity is prohibited. If Connect Networks becomes aware of criminal activity on our platform we will report such activity to appropriate law enforcement authorities.
Age Restrictions
No person below the age of 18 will be permitted to have a Connect Networks account or participate in meetings.
Invasion of Personal Space / Comfort Zones
It is important to respect the personal space of other network members you are speaking with. We strongly encourage you to be mindful of your movement and hand gestures during the course of a meeting.
Disclosure
Sharing personal information about other network members, either directly or indirectly, without their consent—including, but not limited to, gender, religion, age, marital status, race, sexual orientation, alternate account names (including account statuses, such as whether it is on hold, suspended, or active), and real-world location beyond what is provided by them in their account profile is not allowed. Except for the purpose of reporting abuse or any violation of policies to Connect Networks, the remote monitoring, posting or sharing of conversations with another network member without their prior consent are prohibited.
Impersonation
Impersonation of another network member, stealing another network member’s identity, or claiming recognition for ideas of another network member are all strictly prohibited. Additionally, the impersonation of a Connect Networks employee will result in immediate account termination.
Attendance
Once you have submitted your availability for meetings, you will be expected to join the meetings we schedule for you promptly at the time they are scheduled and remain actively engaged for the duration of the meetings. We do understand that work or personal emergencies may arise that cause you to miss a scheduled meeting. You are required to promptly notify Connect Networks that a meeting that has been scheduled for you needs to be postponed or canceled. Repeated cancellations or failure to attend meetings in a timely manner may result in the termination of your Connect Networks account.
RECORDING AND TRANSCRIPTION
We advise you that all meetings may be recorded and transcribed by Connect Networks. We will also seek feedback from both participants in a meeting after it has concluded. Connect Networks may conduct analyses of the meetings and provide feedback to both participants. All rights to such recordings, transcripts, and feedback will be owned solely by Connect Networks. Connect Networks reserves the right to aggregate data and information generated from its analysis of meetings and to sell or license such aggregated data and information to third parties in an anonymized format. No compensation will be payable to any network member. We refer you to our Privacy Policy for additional information.
Network members may not record meetings unless they obtain the prior affirmative consent of the other network member prior to the commencement of the meeting.
NO LIABILITY
Each network member’s participation in Connect Networks meetings is at their own risk. Connect Networks cannot guaranty that the behavior of the other person in your meeting will conform to these Community Standards, or that the meeting will meet your expectations. Likewise, Connect Networks is not liable if a network member fails to appear for a scheduled meeting. Connect Networks does not monitor or exercise control over meetings and disclaims any and all liability with regard to any acts of network members in a meeting, including but not limited to a failure of network members to comply with these Community Standards.
ENFORCEMENT
Warning, Suspension, Termination
In most cases, a network member’s first violation of the Community Standards will result in a warning, unless the violation is egregious. If there are future violations, the network member’s account(s) may be suspended and ultimately terminated if the behavior persists.
Reporting Abuse
Connect Networks strongly encourages network members to report violations of these Community Standards or any of our other policies. We will investigate and respond to all complaints that are brought to our attention. You may report any such incident to us by submitting to us an incident form.
CONNECT NETWORKS PARTNERS
Partner Policies
The network that you participate in may be sponsored by one of our Connect Networks business partners. Those partners may have eligibility requirements for network members, standards of behavior and privacy policies that you will be required to adhere to, which are supplemental to these Community Standards. Where there is a conflict between these Community Standards and our sponsoring partner’s requirement and policies, these Community Standards will prevail. Connect Networks has no liability if your eligibility to participate in a network is terminated by the sponsoring partner.
Information Shared With Partners
Connect Networks advises network members that certain data, such as your Connect Networks account profile, may be shared with the partner that sponsors the network in which you participate.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Individual networks offered by Connect Networks may have additional standards that are applicable to participants in that network only.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY STATEMENT
All right, title, and interest in and to the Connect Networks platform is owned by Connect Networks. Network members are granted a limited end-user license pursuant to which they have a non-transferable, limited, and non-exclusive license to use the Connect Networks platform for the purpose of participating in our services (including but not limited to meetings) that Connect Networks arranges for them, and for no other purpose. As a member, your right to use the platform is expressly conditioned upon your compliance with these Community Standards and will terminate upon the termination of your Connect Networks account. Members are prohibited from distributing, transmitting, reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling the Connect Networks platform or underlying software for any reason. Any violation of this policy by a Member will render them liable for damages.
